Our most recent update includes a whole host of new features and improvements that we can’t wait to share with you! We have taken feedback from you - our client base, feature requests and learnings from our steering group meetings to sculpt this very exciting update.
Here’s an overview of the key new features:
You can now add multi-term synonyms to both the left and the right input boxes in your admin. This means you can consolidate your lists of synonyms into a much shorter, more manageable list, for example:
TV > Television, LCD, Plasma, TV
Telly > Television, LCD, Plasma, TV
Wide Screen > Television, LCD, Plasma, TV
TV, Telly, Wide Screen > Television, LCD, Plasma
You can now also search within your synonyms using our filter feature. Please note: when adding new synonyms ensure you remember to hit ‘re-index’ to save your new synonyms instantly.
As you can see, much simpler and very easy to manage! If you need any help with setting up your new synonym rules please feel free to get in touch with your Success Manager.
We have overhauled the configuration options within site search to give you much more control and flexibility in the way you want your search results to be presented. Under Configurations in your admin, you will now see a Search Settings option that houses a whole range of settings from the number of products to display on the search to the number of brands to show in the autocomplete and even whether your search is weighted towards best sellers, term relevancy or machine learning. Pretty powerful stuff!
We urge you to visit the Search Settings to take a look at what you can do – with so much information we have created a dedicated Support page.
Here’s a quick overview of some of our favorite settings:
Exact SKU redirect – this one came in as a feature request from a client. They found that a lot of their customers were searching directly by SKU code and wanted to streamline the process even further – hello, SKU redirect! If you toggle this option on every time a customer uses an exact SKU code to perform a search they will be automatically redirected straight to that product page.
Relevancy score algorithm – As you know, PureClarity’s highly intelligent search uses a combination of factors to return the most relevant results. We’re all about giving you the power, which is why we have introduced the option to change how your search results are returned based on the following options:
- Term Relevancy: Products are scored and ordered by the relevancy of the search term.
- Purchase Boost: Term relevancy scores are boosted by purchase popularity scores. Top tip: The purchase boost level can even be set to low, medium, high or max!
- Search Performance (ML): PureClarity's Machine Learning algorithm learns the patterns of visitor’s interactions with products for specific search terms, and applies a boost to the term relevancy scores.
Separate personalization – We are always finding new ways to further optimize our client’s websites and, because every website is different, we know the best way to do that is by offering more options to allow you to fine-tune your PureClarity implementation to suit your customer’s needs.
Within the Search Settings, you will see ‘Separate personalization’. Turning this option on will mean that the personalized search results that are currently presented within your search results list are removed from the main list and instead promoted into a recommender at the top of the search results page, something a little like this:
This means more emphasis on a customer’s personalized results, leading to more click throughs and – more sales!
If you would like to implement this new search recommender you will need to make a change to your templates, see our dedicated support article to learn what you will need to do. Remember that you can style this up in any way that you wish to fit in with your site.
With our latest update, you can also now add a personalized recommender into your autocomplete (we love this feature!) – here’s the overview of how to add this into your templates.
We are delighted to see so many of our clients utilizing our Automated Email Marketing module and reaping the rewards. Our aim when we launched Email Marketing was to focus on easy setup and automated emails that just ‘work’ without you having to spend hours of figuring out how best to appear in someone’s inbox. In other words, if someone abandons their cart, disappears off the face of the earth for 6 months or lets you know they love your store by placing an order – we have you covered!
Our latest release still contains PureClarity’s Email Marketing as you know it, but with some added extras! We have added more design configuration options – you always have and always will be in complete control of your HTML template and now it’s even easier to change the font color, size and content. We’ve also introduced a new preview feature, allowing you to preview all of your emails straight from your dashboard to check they’re perfect before PureClarity starts to send them out.
We’ve also improved our email reporting – you will see ‘Triggered Email Performance’ and ‘Campaign Email Performance’ in your dashboard Reports. You can now report on how many abandoned baskets have been recovered, how many emails have been sent and the order total generated from those emails - everything you need in one place. Did we mention your reports are real-time?
Read our Email Marketing User Guide for a complete overview of how to set up and manage email campaigns and personalization.
Last but not least - you now have a notifications icon in your dashboard top bar. PureClarity is a highly complex product with industry-leading personalization and highly innovative features but sometimes it’s the little things that make a real difference! Some clients have mentioned that they would like to have visibility of key notifications in one place and we agreed it was a great idea.
The following triggers will push a notification:
- A complete download (such as a segment or email unsubscribes)
- Your email domain has been verified
- A feed has failed
Our latest update also includes a few bug fixes and other minor changes making for a more enjoyable a seamless admin experience:
- Search within your redirects with our new filter option
- Simplified Domain & Addresses section within Configuration to help you set up Email Marketing
- Recommender click through total can now be seen at the top of your merchandising reports
- Easily export Segment email addresses
Please get in touch with your Success Manager if you would like to discuss our latest update and, as always, if you have a feature request be sure to send it over in a Support Ticket and we will discuss all requests in our regular steering group meetings.
