The Hands-off Approach
If you’re one of our more time-poor customers who’s mostly interested in PureClarity for its out-of-the-box capability, this is the guide for you. First things first: to get set up with your Automation Campaign, make sure you have your BMZs up and running and your Data feeds are all set up. If you need any help with those, get in touch with our Support team or have a look at our Implementation guides.
Next up is setting up the Default Campaign. This is what every visitor to your site will see. Here’s where you can find it:
Once you’re there, click ‘Configure new BMZ’. Select which page you want to configure. You’ll be able to see all the available BMZs on that page. For example, here are my options for my demo homepage:
On the far right, you can click the small blue plus sign to add the content for your BMZ you’ve just selected. In my case, I’ve chosen to add content to HP-01.
Because this is the hands-off approach, we’ll stick with the AI Recommender. The AI Recommender will learn over time what works best for different people, both on an individual per-visitor basis as well as crowd-based learning.
Now click the Next button to move on to the Configuration. The only important things here are the minimum and maximum number of items to show. Based on how much space your BMZs are taking up and what your site looks like, you’ll have an idea of how many items to show.
You can repeat the above process as much or as little as you like for the Homepage, and any other pages you want to show Recommenders on. We suggest the Home page, the Basket page, and Product page as a minimum rule of thumb.
You can keep an eye on the performance of your Recommenders by checking out the Analytics tab, and clicking on ‘Merchandising Performance’:
Here you’ll be able to see a dashboard of all the top stats, including the Recommender Click-Through total, which shows you how much of your revenue is coming directly from click-throughs on those Recommenders:
If you scroll down you’ll be able to see which BMZs and which Recommenders are performing best:
That’s it! If you’ve followed all those steps, your site will now have some AI Recommenders in place on all key conversion points, ready to earn you money.
